30th May

Last minute post at 4 mins to midnight after a hectic evening dispatching 6kg of rhubarb via chutney, jam, stewing and freezing. Prior to all that though there was a post tea trip to Porty beach.

Nothing perks up a rather long and slightly grim day at work than a free cocktail - in this case an apricot and whisky concoction which was included in the ticket price of the charity clothes swap I went to after work.

Making the most of the weekend sunshine with a drive over to Fife and some beach time. We were aiming for Elie but stopped in Leven instead because the swing park next to the beach looked good - a toddler pleasing double whammy.

Mr E running the EMF 10k. (he's the tall one in the red t-shirt...) The random silver things infront of the lens are bits of Mini-M's cheerleader pompoms which she was waving enthusiastically whilst sitting on my shoulders to get a better view.

I came home from work today to discover Mini-M and Mr E had been doing face painting. She is a cat, and he is a dog (?!!) just incase it wasn't immediately apparent...

Our fledgling balcony veg garden - which thanks to Mini-M's love of a) wearing wellies and b) watering things with her teapot, stands a greater chance of survival than had I been in sole plant custody!

A sunny bus stop in front of Morrison's on Ferry Road, where I spent almost 20 mins waiting for the bus that was due in 5... but at least it wasn't raining!

Sorting out clothes for the charity shop. A job ticked off the never ending and ever increasing to-do list!

Today really was lovely May weather - once the mist had finally burned off by about 3:30pm! And by that time I had a very scenic field to stand in marshalling the final event of the Tower Trophy Challenge Begtathlon. Worth the 05:50am start.

Spotty mousie. Eating snipped bits of wool (aka custard). Sitting on a tea towel to keep the carpet clean in case there were spills. All arranged and imagined by Mini-M.

In-car sheltering from the rain snack break at Gorgie city farm. Mini-M named her gingerbread men before eating them. This one was Daddy. We also had Martha and Martha Again. There was some rather cannibalistic glee over biting the heads off!

10th May

Seems we have an arsonist in the neighbourhood. The joys of living in a slightly less than salubrious bit of town :-( This is two of the 3 cars that were burnt out during the night. The third - a now very melted purple Mercedes has already been removed. And that's added to the taxi that went on fire at half 7 on Tuesday morning. Needless to say we've parked a few streets away and are crossing our fingers...

Mr E mid doughnut frying as the dessert part of the Iranian themed meal he cooked. After frying they were dunked in a lemon and honey syrup. Leftovers for breakfast tomorrow although they'll have to be eaten in stealth in the kitchen otherwise Mini-M will find out!

Dedication to gluing... daisies glued to a piece of paper was the masterpiece that Mini-M proudly brought home today!

For the first time in 2.5yrs I had cereal with real milk for breakfast! I don't pretend to understand what black magic goes into its creation but I seem to be able to drink A2 milk. Now to pluck up the courage to try it on Mini-M too...

Mini-M conquers her fear of the vacuum cleaner and discovers a new game... Dropping things (oats in this case) on the floor and hoovering them up. Following in the footsteps of Auntie L!

Mini-M the Hairdresser drying Mr E's hair with a mini jumbo jet (a tad more powerful than most hairdryers!). He was being styled with rabbit hair apparently - I got given peacock hair a few minutes later!
