Another 'Oops I've gone to bed and forgotten to take a picture' day. So here is Mr E's light and portable bed time reading! At page 487 and finally passed halfway - a milestone that has been elusive for several nights!

Setting of to get the bus (one of 5 we took this morning!) to the theatre to see "Spot's Birthday Party". It was lovely and the small people were captivated - and despite having 3 tickets we all shared one seat!!!

This week has been disproportionately long. An early night with a book is required to offset...!

25th April

Stumbled across an unexpected book sale on my lunchtime wander at Heriot watt university. £2.20 got me a 'no sharp knives required' kids cook book, a vegan cook book and the amazingly awful "Joys of Jello". It has already provided it's 20p of entertainment several times over - chicken and cream cheese in lime jelly anyone?!

24th April

A flexi day today to take Mini-M to a hospital check up in the morning, then for a little while in the afternoon, I pretended I was a cat and curled up in the sun on the bed and read my book - a rare luxury!

23rd April

This evening's activity - taking in the waistband on a variety of Mini-m's trousers to avoid repeating the situation on Saturday when she announced halfway across a zebra crossing "Mummy my bottom is on display" as her trousers headed for her ankles!

22nd April

Another photo of tea - this time eggs cooked inside bagels which went with the turnip and leek soup from yesterday's photo.

From 7am to 4pm today was spent helping at the BEG Malawi 2014 selection day and did I take any interesting pictures - no! Did I even take any boring pictures - no! So instead it's the pot of leek and turnip soup I made for tomorrow night's tea.

Hungry hippos - family fun - after an unexpected afternoon trip to the sick kids (thankfully all's well after a rather dramatic tumble by Mini-M) it was a much happier than anticipated evening with drawing, plant watering, stickers, stories on the sofa and a big egg on Mini-M's head!

Mini-M's artwork. This is of Sarah from 'Sarah and duck' which is a kids tv programme. She very carefully explained it all: the smaller 'circle' on the right is Sarah's head. The bigger circle all around is her body. The two small dots are her eyes. The two lines sticking out to the right are Sarah's arms and the lines at the bottom are "lots of legs". A little Picasso-esque...

17th April

A lunchtime wander to look at the demolition on some of the older Heriot watt university halls of residence. They are being pulled down fairly quickly and dramatically.

16th April

Sunshine in Leith - an some big boats in at the docks popping up above the buildings. If you look closely you can probably see some stray wheelie bins too - it's been a windy day!

Recycling - finally sorted through the contents if my desk from changing job back in January!

Today there was sunshine! (And rain but we're glossing over that). So today's photo was taken in proper daylight - a rarity so far this year. Mini-M is fascinated by headphones. Tonight we listened to some Cat Empire and Indigo Girls. She enjoyed having a little boogie to the music :-)

Team pudding making - Mini-M was chief apricot chopper which she did whilst telling us about all the other things she had chopped and nursery to make fruit salad:
Me "wow you're really good at chopping things"
Mini-M (in a 'you're really stupid sometimes mummy' voice) "i was chopping kiwis, and mangos and melon before".

Wedding stickering enthusiasm ( imagine the monkey noises to accompany the sticker!). A lovely day all round. Mini-M M bravely tried and discovered she likes smoked salmon. She did some crazy dancing on her own in the corner, distracted the photographer into a mini photo shoot whilst she signed the guest book on tiptoes with tongue sticking out wearing my high heels, and quizzed me very loudly in the ladies loos on animal noises. I was stumped with hamster and tortoise...

6th April

Brunch (aka toddler lunch) at uncle P's - sausage butties all round :-) we gained a toddler for the morning whilst the newest member of Team H put in an appearance!

White chocolate buttercream roses - wedding cake tier 3 finished - and by 9:45pm so no late night cake decorating required - phew!
