A rather early morning walk in Holyrood Park to Saint Anthony's Chapel. A tactic of morning desperation to try to get Mini-M to have a long lie - but even the threat of climbing hills at 7am didn't really encourage her to stay in bed. She did take a lovely photo though!

Mini-M's Snapshot Week 6
We're only a few weeks in to 2014, and already I think we're a bit confused with the weeks / dates. Oops. To be honest, I've no idea how it's the middle of February - I'm sure there must have been a time portal that skipped from about 8th Jan to 8th Feb! So, I think we're onto Week 6 of Mini-M's photos.
We went to see the light installation that is currently in St Andrew's Square - it's a whole field of coloured light wands that phase through different colours. She was very excited. We loved it but wished it have been about 20 degrees warmer and we could have sat about all evening with a glass of wine enjoying it and oohing and aahing over the pretty colours. Instead we shivered around whilst wrapped up with hats, scarfs, gloves and only managed 2 constantly moving circuits before we thought we were going to get hypothermia.
Mini-M's Snapshot Week 5
Unintentionally kaleidoscopic photo of Playmobil pirate parts on the carpet. Or what happens when you swing the camera about wildly whilst taking pictures. Other offerings from the same shoot included a few of the camera strap in front of the lens, some knee "selfies" and a few carpet fluff macros. None actually of the Playmobil pirate ship which Mini-M was apparently taking a photo of…

Mini-M's Snapshot Week 4
Sunshine :o) Much excitement because the outdoor grass sculpture at the Gallery of Modern Art wasn't closed due to high winds this time. Happy days. A small moment of two of dissent as Mini-M really wanted to run, and the sign said no running. She eventually conceded that she didn't really want to end up cold, wet and soggy after falling in, and that was one of the likely consequences of running.
Unrelatedly on the way there in the car, Mini-M pointed out the window and exclaimed that she could see "a pigeon sky party" after a large flock of them took off together. What a great description - life would sound much more exciting if everyone used vocabulary like toddlers do…

Mini-M's Snapshot Week 3
We had a grandparent visiting weekend down in the Borders. Displaying some geographical confusion, according to Mini-M, this is apparently Granny F's "whole house".
Unless there is a lot she's not telling us, and she has won mega bucks on the lottery and bought the entire town, what it actually is actually most of Hawick.

Mini-M's Snapshot Week 2
I have a feeling that there may be a recurring theme in Mini-M's photos - staged scenes with her toys.
This one is a Peppa Pig / Lego combo. That's a surefire way to keep both Mini-M and Mr E entertained then…

Mini-M's Snapshot Week 1
Mini-M is in charge of the photo cataloguing this year. She's got our old camera, and we're aiming for 1 picture for each week.
So… week 1. She directed the staging of this shot, then clicked the shutter - it specifically contains 3 things:
- Her new cuddly toy - and don't make the mistake of calling it a deer - it is most definitely a fawn (she'll correct you)
- The new lamp we bought in IKEA to make mealtimes less dingy. She is disproportionately excited by it.
- Mr E's injured finger - week 1 and we've clocked up 2014s first trip to A&E already. I'll not shame him by explaining the specifics, but let's just say not many people could manage to cut themselves on their deodorant!
